Secrets of a Legend – Exclusive Masterclass with Ve Neill

Ve Neill has been shaping the makeup looks of Hollywood blockbusters since the 1980s, demonstrating extraordinary versatility in creating both beauty looks and special makeup effects. Her portfolio spans decades and includes iconic productions such as Star Trek, The Lost Boys, nearly all of Tim Burton’s films including Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice, as well as major blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Hunger Games, and many more.

Three Academy Awards and numerous nominations confirm the significance of this true master of makeup artistry.

Several years ago, Ve founded her own makeup school, LEGENDS, in Los Angeles and began sharing her extensive knowledge with aspiring artists. We are thrilled to welcome this legend to Vienna and Berlin for two exclusive masterclasses. Over the course of five days, Ve Neill will share her expertise and techniques:

This is the third masterclass that Ve is teaching at our Maske Wien Studio.

The Ve Neill Masterclass 2026 does not build upon the Ve Neill Masterclass 2025 and can therefore be booked independently, even if you did not attend the previous masterclass.

This year, the following topics will be covered, with demonstrations by Ve followed by hands-on practice by the participants:

Day 1:
1.Character Design Day: Ve talks about how to design a Character
2. Demo Ve: Captain Barbossa Make up: Sunburnt/Dirt Skin, in Costume
3. Students get together in Teams and pick out hairpieces and Prosthetics for own Character Make up

Day 2:
Work with Wigs and ventilated Hairpieces and how to overlay when needed.

Day 3:
1. Demo Ve: Trauma: Application Silicone Wounds, Design with Colors.
2. Student’s Silicone Wounds Application on each other

Day 4:
1. Demo Ve: Character Make up: Application Prosthetic Pieces, Design with Colors  
2. Recap Day/ Test Day: Students plan/test what they are going to include in their own Character Make up on Friday
Also, what costume/accessories will be needed.

Day 5:
Final Character Make up Day: Students work in teams of 2 on Model.
Application Prosthetic Pieces, Color Design, Accessories
Photos.

Please bring a model on Friday. If this is not possible, please contact us and we can arrange a model for € 50 per day.
