Sculpting with Hollywood Special MakeUp Effects Artist Jordu Schell

The Masterclass with Emmy Award-winning* Hollywood MakeUp FX star sculptor Jordu Schell (*Babylon 5 – The Series, for which he also designed the first fully digital creature ever created for a television series) is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a master of his craft in Europe. Since 1987, Jordu Schell has worked on major Hollywood productions such as: “Avatar”, “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”, “300”, “Hellboy”, “Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem”, “Men in Black”, “The Mist”, “Batman Returns”, “Edward Scissorhands”, “Alien: Resurrection”, “The X-Files Movie”, “Predator II”, “Galaxy Quest”, “Evolution”, “Babylon 5 – The Series” and many more. His talent as a sculptor and character designer is renowned worldwide.

In our 5-day Masterclass, participants will have the opportunity to watch Jordu sculpting on the first day.

During the following 4 hands-on workshop days, participants will create their own work.

We will build an armature on which a full-body fantasy creature figure will be sculpted.

Optionally, it is also possible to sculpt a bust.

Participants may therefore choose between creating a full-body sculpture or a bust for their own project.

Jordu Schell teaches the construction of a sculpture using primary and secondary forms; for the finishing stage, the “Master of Texture” has many techniques and tricks for surface detailing, enabling the realistic creation of wrinkles, pores, and other fine textures.

Hollywood in Vienna: an exceptional training opportunity for makeup artists and sculptors who already have some experience, although beginners may also be admitted following a positive interview!
