Film Makeup with Karin Schön:
Karin Schön is one of Austria’s most experienced film makeup artists, both in classic film makeup and in the SFX field.
For several decades, Karin has been responsible for makeup design on major film and television productions such as: Nordrand, Hinterholz 8, Ich gelobe, Neuneinhalb Wochen in Paris, Schlafes Bruder, Altes Geld, Ibiza-Affäre, and many more.
Our Film Makeup Masterclass, which focuses on classic (beauty) film makeup, is an absolute must for anyone looking to break into the film makeup field or further their training in it.
In the masterclass, Karin Schön provides theoretical insight into working on set and presents her own work.
Topics such as mask/character design, makeup tests, the film department and its responsibilities, etc. will also be covered.
In the practical part of the course, film makeup/film nude makeup/film day makeup will be applied together with Karin on a model.
Participants please bring a model for the afternoon from 1pm to approx. 4:30pm.

Course hours: 8am-12pm and 1pm-approx. 4pm
Registration possible up to 3 weeks before the respective course start date. In exceptional cases, later registration may be possible.
- Theory: From mask/character design to mask fitting
- Theory: Film team, film departments, focus on the makeup department
- Theory: Differences between theater/film/photo makeup
- Film makeup and practice
- Makeup products and their use in film
- Practice: Film makeup and nude makeup
- Possibly extending to day makeup and hairstyling
